Sligo residents will be among the first in the Country to provide blood samples to find out if they were infected with Covid-19.
The National Public health emergency team have selected Sligo and Dublin to try and measure what percentage of the population had contracted the Coronavirus.
Sligo was selected due to the relatively low number of confirmed cases in Sligo while Dublin was chosen due to the capital being much more adversely effected by Covid-19.
The blood tests will look for antibodies which are produced after the person that contracted the condition has recovered.
The Irish Independent are reporting that the tests are expected to take place this month.
The latest figures released by the Department of Health show no changes in the number of cases in Donegal, Sligo or Leitrim.
Nationally a further five people have died from the virus and 19new cases have been confirmed.
