Water levels drop to critical levels in parts of region

Irish Water is appealing to the public to conserve water as reservoir levels in some parts of the country reach critical levels.

The continued dry spell combined with the lockdown has meant an average water usage increase of 20% in homes across the country.

The main water treatment plant on Benbulben near Luke’s Bridge in north Sligo is one such concern.

Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Donal Gilroy has visited the site.
