Calls on Taoiseach to reject proposed CAP cuts on farmers



Calls have been made to the Taoiseach to use his veto rather than accept a proposed cut to the Common Agriculture Policy budget which is being proposed by EU officials.

Reports into the cuts suggest that there could be over €2,000 taken from the €14,400 average CAP payment received by Irish farmers.

The proposed cuts to the CAP budget are being by opposed by farmers right across Europe with tractor protests having already been staged in Brussels.
