Sligo beaten at home by Waterford



Sligo’s promotion hopes in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League suffered a setback on Saturday afternoon when they were beaten by pointless Waterford at Markievicz Park by 2-12 to 0-16.

Paul Taylor’s side seemed to have the winning of the game and led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the interval.

But they were caught by two second-half goals from Waterford, the second coming from full-forward Darragh Corcoran who added a point a moment later to edge his side in front.

It’s Sligo’s second consecutive defeat in Division 4 – and it now looks like they will have to win their three remaining league games against Wexford (away), Carlow (away) and Limerick (home) if they are gain promotion.
