Irish MEP’s urged to voted against importing fracked gas

Community anti fracking group, Love Leitrim are calling on Irish MEP’s to vote against the 4th Projects of Common Interest list today in the European Parliament.

The list contains 55 fossil fuel infrastructure projects, including Shannon LNG which if success would see Ireland become a hub for imported fracked gas.

Chairperson of love Leitrim movement, Jamie Murphy says there has been growing opposition to this project over the past number of years in both Ireland and abroad.

The project was also recently opposed during the Youth Assembly on Climate which have called for the project to be stopped.
