Donegal pier car park closed overnight as Storm Ciara “danger to life”

As a precaution by Donegal County Council, Motorists are advised not to park at the pier car park in Donegal Town over night on Saturday and into Sunday morning as the high tide is expected at 5:36am.

Warning signs have been erected in the car park to advise motorists that the car park is closed from 12:00am to 8:00am on 9th February 2020.

Forecasters here say the storm will hit us tomorrow – but orange wind warnings are already in place for Donegal, Mayo and Galway.

Former commercial airline pilot Janet Alexander says flying in high winds can have benefits – like reduced journey times – but there’s a lot of skill involved.
