Leitrim CC to call on government to deal with waiting times for children’s outpatient appointments

Leitrim County Council is to call on the Minister for Health Simon Harris and the Minister for Children Katherine Zappone to provide the necessary resources to deal with the long waiting times for children needing outpatient appointments such as paediatric specialists, speech and language and in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

The calls were made at this month’s meeting of the local authority by Drumkeerin-based Fianna Fáil Councillor Mary Bohan.

Speaking to Ocean FM news, Cllr Bohan says the long waiting lists are negatively impacting those left waiting, as well as their families.
