House prices fall in Donegal, Leitrim, rise in Sligo



House prices in Donegal and Leitrim fell in the past year but rose more than 2% in Sligo.

That’s according to the latest Daft House Price Report.

In Donegal, prices in the final quarter of 2019 were 3% lower than a year previously.

It compares to a rise of 4% the year before that.

The average house price in Donegal is now €139,000, 22% above its lowest point.

In Leitrim, prices in the final quarter of 2019 were 7% lower than a year previously, compared to a rise of 12% the year before.

The average house price in Leitrim is now €126,000, 46% above its lowest point.

In Sligo, house prices have risen almost 2.5% in the past year.

The average price of a house in Sligo is now €141,528, which is a 34% increase from its lowest.

It follows the Sligo/Strandhill area having recently been designated a rent pressure zone.
