Tourlestrane beaten in Connacht

Tourlestrane’s Connacht campaign came to an end on Sunday in Markievicz Park as they were beaten 3-7 to 0-6 by Roscommon champions Padraig Pearses in the Connacht Senior Club Championship quarter-final.

Early scores from Adrian McIntyre and Cathal Henry had given Tourlestrane the perfect start but a Pearses goal saw the visitors establish a 1-2 to 0-3 half-time lead.

Another goal for the Pat Flanagan-managed side looked like a fatal blow to Tourlestrane early in the second half but a red card for Pearses midfielder Ronan Daly gave the Sligo champions hope.

The South Sligo team rallied a little with three points in a row, the best of these from Cathal Henry,  but then Pearses Player of the Match Paul Carey took over scoring 1-4 without reply to give the Roscommon side a comfortable 10-point winning margin at the final whistle.
