Fears Fair Deal scheme numbers will continue to rise as cold months approach



There are fears the number of people waiting for a place under the Fair Deal Scheme will continue to rise over the coming cold months.

The number waiting on Fair Deal rose from 525 nationally on September 17th, to 686 by the 30th, an increase of over 30% in a two week period.

The numbers waiting in Sligo and Leitrim went from 10 to 17 and Donegal increased from 16 to 17.

Sligo Leitrim Fianna Faill TD, Eamon Scanlon the figures are only going to increase.
