In recent times, there have been numerous business closures in Sligo town, which also has the highest commercial vacancy rate in the country.
But now for some good news — a new store opening.
It’s Golden Discs, which will open in Johnston’s Court this weekend.
The new store opening will take place this coming Saturday.
Golden Discs in Sligo will employ six staff, including more seasonal workers during the coming months.
Vinyl sales have seen an increase in the last few years, which is a contributing factor in the business setting up in Sligo.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Golden Discs CEO, Stephen Fitzgerald, says there is a vibrant music tradition in the region, such as the Coleman Traditional Centre . . .and Golden Discs and are looking forward to being a part of it.
