Sligo councillor hopes major €3m road project will be completed by next spring or summer

A West Sligo councillor says he hopes that a major road surfacing job on the Ballisodare to Ballina N59 route, estimated to cost about €3m, will be done next spring or summer.

Independent Councillor Joe Queenan praised the work being done at present on the road from Corballa to the Mayo border — but he says more work needs to be done on what is one of the busiest routes in the region.

Cllr Queenan spoke to Ocean FM News after yesterday afternoon’s meeting in Tubbercurry of councillors from the Ballymote/Tubbercurry/West Municipal District.
