The beginning of a large roadwork scheme is to begin today around Cliffoney in Co. Sligo.
It’s part of the N15 Cliffoney North Scheme and will involve digging up the existing road and replacing it with a new design.
Towards the end of the works, the Creevykeel junction is to be improved and made safer after Transport Infrastructure Ireland identified the area as a ‘High Collision Location.’
In all, it’s expected the development will be completed in early 2020.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly says it will improve the safety of all travelling along the route.
