The Law Society of Ireland is to launch a new a initiative designed to promote well being in the solicitors profession in Sligo and Leitrim.

According to a recent survey, 57% of solicitors are reported to have very high or extreme levels of stress in the workplace.

The new initiative which launched yesterday will provide practical support, education and guidance across the three pillars of workplace culture, resilience, well being and emotional and psychological health.

Senior Vice president of the law society and Sligo solicitor Michele O’Boyle says the evidence shows that it is a global problem with some of the main factors being large workloads, high client expectations and not having enough time to complete their work:
