A new community initiative is set to be established in Sligo in accordance with An Taisce’s National Spring Clean up and Clean Coasts programmes.
GLAN which is Irish for Clean will be piloted in Sligo town only on Thursday to help communities and businesses become more environmentally friendly.
Businesses that are willing to take part in the program must be able to make three environmentally beneficial pledges such as refilling water bottles for the public, use recycled takeaway containers and using reusable bottles instead of plastic condiments.
