Status Yellow rainfall warning in place for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal

A Status Yellow rain warning is in place this morning for a number of counties, including Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

Forecasters are warning of the possibility of flooding over the next 24 hours.

Up to 80 millimetres of rain is expected to fall before the warning ends at six o’clock tomorrow morning.

Cathal Nolan, from the Midland Weather Channel, says people need to be careful while driving:

Motorists are urged to drive with caution because of surface water on the roads.

Meanwhile, a tree is down and partially out on the N16 Manorhamilton to Sligo road, near Glencar.
