Strike action by Ryanair pilots is worrying development says Sligo TD



A Sligo Leitrim TD says strike action by Ryanair pilots in the UK is a very worrying development for commuters and tourism here in Ireland.

The British Airline Pilots Association yesterday announced plans for industrial action for the 22nd and 23rd of August, and the 2nd until the 4th of September.

The result of a ballot of the company’s Irish-based pilots for strikes is also expected tomorrow.

Fianna Fáil’s transport spokesperson, Marc MacSharry, says he hopes talks between Ryanair and union take place over the next few weeks so the strikes can be avoided:
