A Kinlough triathlete has finished second overall in the gruelling Deca Ironman Challenge in the UK.
Mark McGowan completed 10 triathlons in 10 days – a total of 151 hours.
The Deca Ironman Challenge is a long-distance triathlon consisting of approximately 18 hours of swimming, cycling and running every day for 10 days.

This year’s event was held at Allerthorpe lakeland park near York.
Another Irishman, Gerry Duffy from Mullingar, won the event in 2011.
