Works to begin and be completed before new school year at Scoil Mhuire and Iosaf in Collooney

Works are due to begin shortly at St. Mhuire agus Iosaf Primary School in Collooney.

A number of enhancements will take place including the removal of a wall, a new footpath, a set down area for cars, a new roundabout at the entrance to Kieran Avenue and a ramp at the junction of St. Mary’s Green.

The works will begin on Tuesday the 6th of August and are expected to be completed in three weeks, giving time to be ready for the new academic year.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy has been heavily involved in getting the funding required.

Councillor Healy says he’s delighted to be able to welcome the news after a two year campaign.
