Local councillor describes home help hours scheme in the north west as a ‘post code lottery’

A local councillor is describing the Home Help Hours scheme in the North West as a ‘post code lottery’.

Sinn Féin Councillor and General Election candidate, Chris MacManus is making the comments following figures that show 230 people in Sligo and Leitrim are waiting on home help hours.

Other counties such as Carlow and Kilkenny, which have higher populations, have a waiting list of zero.

Councillor MacManus says he wants to see the same situation in the North West.
