It’s been claimed children in the region are being failed by the mental health services.
Deputy Marc MacSharry made the comments in the Dail when deputies put forward motions on mental health.
According to new figures, mental health services are still short 2,671 staff that were outlined in the Vision for Change plan that was adopted in 2006.
Deputy MacSharry says the issue of mental health is ‘not being taken seriously enough.’
