Rovers produce five-star performance to beat UCD

Sligo Rovers rediscovered their mojo at the Showgrounds on Monday night as they came from a goal down to beat UCD 5-1 in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Liam Scales gave the students the lead on nine minutes but, once Rovers settled, they got into the groove and goals from Johnny Dunleavy and Ronan Coughlan (pictured) saw them turn the contest around.

Coughlan would twice more to complete his hat-trick with Romeo Parkes also finding the range.

The club’s Annual Draw was held at half-time in Monday night’s game. The draw raised an impressive €78,340.

Next up for Sligo Rovers is a trip to Tallaght Stadium to play Shamrock Rovers.

Elsewhere, Finn Harps moved four points clear of UCD with a 0-0 draw against Cork City at Finn Park in Ballybofey.
