Pringle: ‘Problem gambling not being dealt with’

A Donegal TD has spoken out against the issuing of licences for gambling and gaming machines across Donegal.

It’s after the Gaming and Lotteries Bill reached debate stage in the Dáil this week.

Deputy Thomas Pringle says the legislation to date has not dealt with the widespread problem of gambling in Ireland.

He says it’s suspicious that councillors rushed to legalise gaming in Donegal before a suite of legislation which seeks to reform gambling in Ireland is due to be introduced.
