Doherty demands clarity on Donegal Community Hospitals

A Donegal TD is urging the government to immediately disclose the projects that will be cut or delayed as a result of the National Children’s Hospital cost overrun.

The hospital is now facing construction delays that could end up adding millions more to the final cost of the project.

The bill for the project has risen from an estimated €800 million in 2014 to €1.4 billion, which is expected to increase to some €1.7 billion when other costs are factored in.

Speaking during Leaders questions Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty said there is serious concerns over the investment in community hospitals in Donegal.
