Kilcar lose All-Ireland Comórtas final after extra-time

There was disappointment for Kilcar senior gaelic footballers on Monday in the All-Ireland senior Comórtas final in Kerry as they were beaten by the host club An Ghaeltacht by 0-12 to 0-11 after extra time.

Despite being without county players Paddy McBrearty, Ryan McHugh and Eoin McHugh who are preparing for Donegal’s Ulster SFC semi-final against Tyrone next Saturday,

Kilcar lost Ciaran McGinley, Mark McHugh and Stephen McBrearty to injury in the final but led by one approaching the end of normal time, but An Ghaeltacht found an equalising score – and then edged home in extra-time.

In the junior final, Downings retained their title with 2-12 to 1-4 win against Cork side Ballingeary.
