Protest over beef prices in Ballinasloe this (Thurs) evening



Farmers say beef prices are unsustainable, with current prices 40 cent per kilogram less than this time last year.

Beef farmers will highlight ongoing issues in the sector at the Irish Farmers Journal’s Beef Summit in Ballinasloe this evening.

A similar protest was held last week by IFA members outside the cabinet meeting in Cork.

Today’s gathering is organised by the Beef Plan Movement – Adam Woods, from the Irish Farmers Journal, says they’re looking for immediate action to be taken:
