MEP brands government’s approach to rural broadband plan as ‘chaotic and farcical’



A Midlands North West MEP is branding the government’s approach to the roll-out of rural broadband as chaotic and farcical.

The Government is looking at other options as the estimated costs have soared to as much as €3bn over 25 years.

A decision on the future of the scheme had been expected eariler this month but it has been delayed until after Easter.

Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says taxpayers also need to be given clarity on the final cost of this project.
