Sligo councillor expresses concern over local access to beaches

A local councillor is expressing concern about local access to beaches for emergency services.

An incident occurred on Saturday where and two elderly people suffered head injuries while at Strandhill beach.

The ambulance that was dispatched could not access the area and with the rising tide, it was decided that they should be airlifted.

Sligo Fine Gael Councillor, Sinead Maguire, says she will be asking Sligo County Council to review access onto our beaches.
