Knock Airport team up with IBD Ireland to highlight that not every disability is visible

Knock Airport have teamed up with IBD Ireland to erect signage at toilets letting people know that not all disabilities are visible.

Since May last year, efforts have been made to have the signs put up in travel hubs; airports, bus and railway stations, as a number of people have faced discrimination for using disabled toilets without having a ‘visible’ disability.

It’s estimated that over 40,000 people in the country have some form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, such as Crohn’s disease, and this may not be obvious on first look.

Donal Healy, Head of Marketing at Ireland West Airport Knock says it’s small gesture that can make a big difference.
