Fine Gael have selected Mairead McGuinness and Maria Walsh to run in the upcoming European Parliament elections in May for the Midlands/Northwest Constituency.
They were selected by party members at a convention in Mullingar last night.
Ms. McGuinness is a sitting MEP and also the first Vice President of the European Parliament.
Ms. Walsh was born in Boston and won the Rose of Tralee in 2014, becoming the first gay woman to do so.
