Contracts were signed yesterday for three major infrastrcuture projects in Sligo.
They are for work on the N4 dual carraigeway between Collooney and Castlebaldwin, the Western Distributor Road linking the N4 to an IDA business park at Oakfield, and enhancement of O’Connell Street.
The signing of the contracts comes ahead of the visit to Sligo on Friday of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Transport Minister Shane Ross for the sod-turning ceremony for the €100m N4 and Western Distributor Road projects.
Speaking to Ocean FM News yesterday evening, Sligo County Council Chief Executive Ciaran Hayes says it’s a sign of changed times in Sligo.
