Agri Week with Therese Madden

On this week’s show:

Sinn Féin’s Agriculture Spokesman Martin Kenny is calling on the Agriculture Minister to clarify how the targeted payments for beef farmers, in the case of a no-deal Brexit, would be allocated.

Midlands and North West MEP Matt Carty says the reason farmers are selling their land to forestry companies is that they cannot avail of grants that are given to larger conglomerates to improve profits.

Sheep farmers in counties of Sligo, Donegal and Leitrim can look forward to increased prices for lambs this spring – we find out more.

Suckler farmers in the North West are being encouraged to apply for the new €40 per cow Beef Environmental and Efficiency Pilot scheme.
And we will also be having a look at prices at the Donegal, Ballymote and Mohill marts.
