Aontú to contest local elections in the north west



The leader of Aontú, Peadar Tobin has today confirmed his intention to run a number of candidates across the north west in the 2019 local elections.

The new all Ireland Political party is attracting large volumes of support both in the Republic and Northern Ireland and have already formed a number of local Cumainn’s across the Country.

 

Speaking earlier to the Ocean FM Mr Tobin also confirmed that Aontú are also considering running candidates to contest the European elections in May.

The new party also plan to stage further meetings in Sligo and Leitrim in the coming weeks and the former Sinn Féin TD says his new party will be activists led.
