Over €122,000 announced for festivals in Sligo and Donegal



Over €122,000 has been announced by Fáilte Ireland for festivals and events in Donegal and Sligo.

In Donegal, the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival received the largest amount of funding across the two counties having been awarded €37,000 while the Earagail Arts Festival was given €35,000.

Elsewhere the Sea Sessions festival in Bundoran gained €20,000 in funding and the International Rally has given €15,000 was awarded to the Sligo Live music festival.

It has also been annouced that Sligo has also been chosen as one of the seven locations for extra funding to extend St Patrick’s Day celebrations into a week-long festival.

Board Member of the Sligo Live festival, Ind Cllr Marie Casserly, says this funding recognises and acknowledge the hard work of voluntary committees.
