The Finalists for All Ireland Community & Council awards for 2019 have been announced and there is a healthy representation from the North West.
The awards are presented by IPB Insurance and the Local Authority members which represents elected councillors throughout the Country.
Donegal County Council have been shortlisted in the emergency response team of the year category for their flood response at Innishowen.
John McLaughlin is director of services with Donegal County Council, he say’s it’s a great honour to be included on the short list
Tubbercurry old fair day festival in Sligo has been nominated in the best Arts/Culture section which also includes festivals and events.
There is also local representation in the best tourism initiative South and West Sligo Tourism making it on to the short list.
Chairman of South West Sligo tourism is Paul Taylor, he says the nomination is recognition for all involved.
The various award winners will be announced at a Gala awards ceremony in Croke Park on February 9th
