Funding of €36,500 for north west animal welfare centres



Funding of 36,500 euro has been sanctioned for animal welfare centres across the north west.

Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre in Drumkeeran has been awarded €17,000, while Sathya Sai Sanctuary Trust in Castlebaldwin, Co Sligo has received €13,500.

Little Wings Bird Sanctuary in Banada and Precious Paws Sanctuary in Gurteen are both set to get €3,000 each.

Leitrim Senator, Frank Feighan has welcomed the funding and says over €2.7 million euro has been announced from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine for 108 Animal Welfare organizations nationwide.
