A Leitrim county councillor has called on the local authority to reimburse tidy towns groups for the costs of painting and upkeep of local authority owned housing .
Drumkeerin Councillor Padraig Fallon made the call at this week’s Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting of Leitrim County Council.
Councillor Fallon says that the work done, as well as the costs which are accumulated by the Tidy Towns groups on painting local authority houses, should be taken into consideration when it comes to the allocation of future funding by the council.
