Sligo council leading the way in preparing for climate change, coastal erosion



Sligo County Council is leading the way when it comes to preparing for climate change.

It is the first council in the country to start preparing a climate adaptation strategy, which will set out the challenges and what can be done to deal with them.

For the north west, the major problems will be coastal erosion and the consequences of severe weather.

Sligo County Council Director of Services Tom Kilfeather has been telling Ocean FM News about how the preparatory work now being done highlights the central role climate change is going to play in future policy and actions:
