Sligo Councillor demands discussions on rural issues



Independent Michael Clarke is calling for a special meeting of the council in the New Year to discuss the issue which, he says, is affecting numerous areas, including farming, school transport, employment and rural development.

At yesterday’s meeting of the council, Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon says if rural Sligo is affected, so too is rural Leitrim — and he suggested they bring a number of counties together in a campaign.
