Sligo, Donegal TDs hit out at vulture funds

Two north west TDs are hitting out at the way they claim vulture funds are dealing with mortgage holders who are in debt.

It’s as a Fianna Fail Bill aimed at controlling the funds is going through the Dail and Seanad.

Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon says lack of responses and high interest rates are major problems for struggling mortgage holders.

Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue says his his party’s proposed legislation to regulate vulture funds is now needed more than ever because of the tens of thousands of mortgage arrears and unprecedented loan sales to foreign-owned investors.
