Boyle cycle way project to receive funding allocation

8 million euro in funding’s been announced for greenways, walking trails and other outdoor recreation projects nationwide.

18 projects are being funded by the government under the 2018 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme including the development of a new cycle way from Lough Key Forest Park to Boyle Town.

The projects include The Coolaney Mountain Bike Track, a municipal park in Wexford and a walking/cycle track along the disused railway line between Clifden and Oughterard in Galway.

Local senator Frank Feighan says the new attraction in Boyle will result in increased numbers visiting the south Sligo and north Roscommon regions.
