Agriculture Committee votes in favour of trade policy

Recently the Agriculture committee of the European Parliament has voted in favour of an agreed EU/UK approach on a trade policy post Brexit as applied by the WTO (The World Trade Organisation)

The EU currently operates trade policy on behalf of its members states which gives them greater power when it comes to Global negotiations, however after Brexit the UK will determine its own trade policy.

As a result Tariff Rate Quotas many of them affecting agriculture will have to be divided between the EU and UK

To find out what this will mean for the farming community John Lynch earlier caught up with MEP Mairead McGuinness.
