One of the 27 post offices in the north west that was due to be closed by An Post has got a three-month reprieve.
It’s Gurteen Post Office in south Sligo, which will now stay open until at least the end of January next.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Paul Taylor says it’s positive in that it gives the community more time to make an even stronger case for the retention of the post office in the village:
