Storm Callum set to hit coastal areas hardest



Donegal and Sligo County Councils have emergency plans in place for tonight’s storm with an Orange Warning in place from 10pm with gusts of up to 130 km an hour forecast.

Donegal County Council says it expects Donegal town and Killybegs to be worst affected by Storm Callum and it’s urging people in coastal areas to take precautions.

The Council has also closed the Pier Carpark in Donegal town.

Meanwhile the Council in Sligo is also on high alert and it says it will be monitoring areas of the town most prone to flooding.

The areas most at risk in Sligo are the Mardyke, Scotsman’s Walk, Gibraltar Point, Back Avenue in Sligo and Coast Road Easkey.
