Call for Ballyshannon clock tower to be used as library



A Ballyshannon councillor is calling for the historic clock tower in the town to be compulsorily acquired by Donegal County Council for use as a library.

Fine Gael Councillor Barry O Neill told this week’s meeting of councillors from Donegal Municipal District that it would save the council money as it’s already paying out €25,000 a year to rent a library building.

Fianna Fail Councillor Micheal Naughton seconded the proposal.
