Councillor warns any cuts to DeafHear will be ‘strongly resisted’



Sligo councillors are calling for a guarantee that services for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing will not be removed.

There has been concern about the future of services provided by the charity organisation DeafHear, which has been providing specialist help for people and their families since 1964.

Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry proposed at this week’s meeting of the county council that it write to the CEO of DeafHear and the HSE.
