Applications for ‘expression of interest’ in the Renewable Energy Sector of the LEADER programme are open until the end of October.

Under the LEADER programme 2014 – 2020, €250m has been allocated nationally for the development of rural areas.
So far under the scheme, 184 groups or businesses in the North West have availed of almost €6.5m in funding.
Development Officer with the Leitrim Development Company, James Duffy says community groups can avail of upto 75% in funding while businesses can get upto 50%.
