Ireland needs to look to other models to prevent Post Office closures



Protesters are taking to the streets of Dublin later to demand a reversal of rural post office closures.

An Post recently announced details of the almost 160 post offices earmarked to close.

But a coalition of groups is rallying today outside the Dáil to demand a U-turn on the policy.

Seamus Maye from the Public Banking Forum of Ireland says the whole approach to rural post offices is wrong.

He says New Zealand has transformed its post office network by hosting a new banking service:
