Leitrim Councillors look set to support Sean Gallagher

Leitrim County Council is expected to back businessman Sean Gallagher at a special meeting next week.

Mr. Gallagher was one of a number of presidential hopefuls to make a presentation at the Council yesterday.

The motions are cross party and include a motion by Independent Cllr Enda Stenson, one by Fianna Fail Cllr Mary Bohan and another by Fine Gael Cllr John McCartin.

The special meeting to decide will be held next Monday at the Council offices in Leitrim at 1pm.

Meanwhile the following Wednesday (12th September) Sligo Councillors will have the opportunity to hear from a number of the presidential hopefuls.
