Heritage Week draws to a close this weekend

Well if you are not interested in the Pope and you want to do something else this weekend.

There are plenty of options as heritage week draws to a close.

In Leitrim, there is a free trad session on at Parke’s Castle at 3pm on Sunday and a tour of Fenagh Abbey and Church of Ireland at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.

There’s also a very interesting exploration of Dromahair’s heritage around the village from 11am on Saturday morning.

In Donegal, there are loads of events on as well with a Showbands Exhibition on at the County Donegal museum and Unveiling of a stone carved townlands marker of Loughros Point in the Ardara area.

You can search all of the events in the region on the heritageweek.ie website.

And with a taste of what’s happening in county Sligo, heritage officer with Sligo County Council Siobhan Ryan joined Claire on the line
